WCW Sprayer
« on: December 16, 2012, 02:22:18 pm »
2 problems and one good thing.

Getting water in the base of pump and electrics housing.
It doesn't appear to be coming from the tank either, there's
no sign of moisture on the battery or the pump just on the
base of the housing itself.
To make sure I put PTF tape round the coupling on the filter
where it screws into the pump inlet pipe in the base of the
water tank.
Also the pump won't stay clamped down, it tends to pop up
out of the bracket on the side where the outlet hose is.
Think the hose is a tad too inflexible and is lifting it.
Anybody else notice these problems?
On the plus side....they sent me 2 sets of every nozzle and one
of them screws directly onto trigger w/o lance and looks as though
it will be ideal on u/h.

Yes, the hose is not very flexible - its curled up a couple of times and got in the way of other kit and ended up snapping the lance.

Its not particularly well screwed together - just like your typical made in China tat. That said, I haven't had any problems with functionality. In fact, its a great little bit of kit.

Drips when filling up, also the screw in the bottom that fastens the solution pipe becomes lose.

This is what i am now using, its a copy fthe sureflow version but s well made and has good parts. The difference is that water will not enter the battery or pump wiring areas. ;)

It does Paul.
Looking at mine today though there's no moisture on the
battery pump etc just in the bottom of the base unit.
Wrapped PTF tape round filter where it screws into inlet
pipe.
Also getting steamed up battery level gauge.

The design is pooe so when you fill it up you always drip a bit down the sides and into the base. Even though there are holes in the base the bottom rim still holds water.  This will cause moisture and because some of the fittings and wiring is near the bottom it gets moist and then shorts out.

They are all suffering from this problem after about 6 months. Its a s hit design andthats why they are giving out free parts all the time as they breakdown.

Same problem here. Got a Sherpa that needs charging more but seems better design.

Ah filling up...never thought about that.
Yes I've had a load of spares sent with it
when I bought it.
Plus a 3rd lance and trigger when I complained,
all for free

Looks nice that Paul, there was a link on here a few months ago to a decent looking one that had a pistol gun sprayer as well as a lance, just can't remember who had it.

One good thing about them.
If the lance breaks and you haven't got a spare.
The lance that normally comes with the IK9, not
the brass one from RM, fits if you take the whole
gun off and use the full trigger and lance from the
IK9.
Just dip the end of the hose in hot water for a few
seconds then push in, works perfectly.
In fact it's a better gun because it's not as long as
the one that comes with it so less prone to snapping.
