hi Ian,
do you pay him an hourly rate now? I understand you work alongside now, so you know his speed rates, I would suggest just an increase on his hourly rate for the added responibilty and maybe some monthly or quarterly bonus based on work completed?

lets break it down
so lets say 20 working days @£200 a day is £4000
minus van usage= £3300
leaves him a wage of £1650 or £412.50 a week
Now if he does collecting and puts the extra effort in then maybe not so bad i would reduce to say??? i would say fo for between 35-40% to start 40 % BEING £330 A WEEK
