3-4 years for a pub carpet is ridiculous.

House carpets often look in a bad way after 3-4 years, what do they expect in a pub??

Of course they will notice it resoiling, it was filthy before cleaning...

When a carpet is soil saturated any more soil or stains being added is not noticeable, clearly if it's been cleaned the soiling becomes apparent hence the need for maintenance cleans to keep on top of it.

How dumb are some of these people...

Mind, you should be doing a better job on the selling   ;D

Sounds like they are just fobbing you off... The problem with most of these type of customers is they simply dont see having their carpets is an essential expense  ???

I've lost count of the times a customers say's " i'm worried about getting my carpet cleaned because they are never the same afterwards and get dirtier quicker". Then i have to give them all the spiel about how they wash their clothes when they are dirty, and that is all psychological and an old wifes tale. It's a bit odd, it's like they would rather sit there with a manky carpet untill they get a new one, rather than get it cleaned, for fear of it getting dirty again!

Probably because you didn't get it clean in the first place. That's one of the drawbacks of using a DF system in situations that are way beyond its capabilities.

Hi Guys

I tried cleaning a bar carpet with my Tex as there was big shrinkage potential.

Had to revert to the TM because i just knew it was not clean and the water was black.

I think LM works very well on industrial carpets but all that sugar form drink spills doesn't work as well.

Cheers

Doug

Derek is just a smart arse, watch him quote this  ;D You cant pad pub carpets they have to be extracted.

You can pad them if you want a good visual finish only and are not likely to be going back to them, but ongoing  it must be hwe.

Not necessarily,

A combination of the two works very well indeed,

On severe black top especially (remember this is, in effect a restoration clean) if you fear the carpet can not take too much moisture, we would spray the worst affected areas with your favourite solution of choice preferably hot, leave to dwell for 10 minutes or so, then using an old pad block, with out a pad, score the surafce of the black top until it has broken up or emulsified, then extract out in the usual manner.

We would then either damp or dry pad to speed drying, repeat the process as necessary, the results are generally very good.

(when you use the block without a pad the black top has to be well lubricated)

You do not need a TM when using this method.

Your problem is that you are trying to make one tool fit every situation, because that is the only tool you've got. If there was blacktop present on any part of that carpet then the whole carpet was dirty and df wouldn't be your first choice in that situation. DF are based up near us and we get lots of customers of their saying the very same thing, 'it looked good at first but got dirty again quickly,' why is that, because the dirt wasn't taken out of it in the first place. ;)

I wouldn't be surprised if it was down to the equipment, but indirectly.

When people see pipes and steam and hear lots of noise, they automatically think 'Wow, that's a clean!'.
When they see a Dry Fusion or similar, they think 'That's what I used to use to clean the supermarket aisles..'
And come to the conclusion that it can't be cleaning very well - then they reinforce their own belief by seeing the carpet get dirty 'quickly'.
