I have a lad working for me David on the carpet/upholstery cleaning side of things.I offer other services, but carpet cleaning is still about 70% of my work. He can manage 3 jobs a day easy and he's good, the first job is always at 9am and he is home by 4.30pm most days, the hardest part is trying to get a full days work in the same area, this makes it a lot easier to get at least 3 jobs a day done.He gets p***ed off if i give him 4 or 5 jobs  ;D , so i give him a hand on busy days, but i spend most of my time trying to get commercial carpet cleaning work in, as i find these jobs are the best margins out of all the services i offer.

Thanks for that info.  I need to prove my business model for at least 1 year before I think about employing someone else.  Several others on here have stated how much more efficient you can operate with an assistant.  I could do with some casual help with my bigger jobs at times though.

I've not cracked the commercial market yet, but I'm working on it.
