It's 0c at the moment was -3 over night today will creep up to around 1 or 2 before going back to -1 tonight quite a spike , about to get in van I'm pretty sure my pipes are frozen ,

In Ferryhill County Durham it was -2 at 7am not checked temp again but still really cold ,  Intend on starting at 9am going to fill tank shortly and get ready to go out .

Forecast for snow overnight or early hours of Saturday at least it will be warmer if it is snowing tomorrow wont stop me working though. . Mike

Yeah up north you have to get around it I used to be up there too! Going out below freezing you just have to as you have days and weeks at those temperatures but down south we don't really need to tolerate it so much, for example come Monday we have highs of 9c and rest of week 6c so not going out isn't so much of a problem I think I will go the customers yesterday were amazed I was out it was a heat wave 6c today at 0 should be fun I just hope my pipes ain't frozen or don't freeze during work

Hose should not freeze mate it was 1+ yesterday at 7am when i started and the ground was frozen due to overnight frost and water was freezing on sills after 8am , But managed without any probs .

With regards to getting a round a have a L200 Trojan so should be ok even with 500kg in the back , Mike

its -2 here as well but off out in a min.van nice and toasty ready for work.oil filled radiator been on all night.no windscreens to scrape,hose reels and DI brought inside overnight.

i always fill up after work in the evening ready for the next days work.

I'm a bit concerned as I left my merlin in the van over night. The filters are brand new.

Me too its good practice, but i simply have to this time of year....frozen transferr hose! its a bit difficult to bring 30M of 1" hose in to keep it warm!!!!

The weather forecasters have been saying it will be freezing temperatures since last week.
They were actually right for a change!
No excuses if your system is frozen in my opinion, you should be more prepared!

When we have a real cold snap like December time I park my van at my mates garage he puts a heater electrical in the van over night and I give him £3

Yea pipes froze over night this got me unaware I managed to drain the pump at midnight when I realised , so that's ok, gonna grab a quick breakfast drive over the mates garage 10 mins on the electric heater should be at work by 11 can't grumble will get Bout 5 hours

My water is freezing inside the pole, so I have had to stop. I will try again, but I am not optimistic as I have to stop by three to collect youngest from school.

crystal clear my oil filled radiator cost me £40 over a year ago.it costs me £2 a night to heat the van overnight.hardly a lot of money considering i get a days work in the next day.

it was very cold today though and the freezing fog didnt lift all day!i still worked 930am-2-30pm and i earned £150.not bad for a cold freezing winter day.better than sat at home earning nothing!!

i also brushed any standing water away from paths and put some salt/grit down.good practice IMO on very cold days.

Just settled down for the evening and it's all nice a warm in here. Then... I remember the ro's still in the van so I've got to go and get it.

I live 14 floors up so it's not a case of just going out the front or back door. Once down stairs it's then a 300yd walk to the car park via 2 flights of steps and then I have to unload almost the entire van, get the ro, put everything back and lug it all the way back up here.

Why oh why didn't I bring the ro up with me when I finished work.
