Apologies to Brodex
« on: November 20, 2012, 02:41:06 pm »
Ok as I started this thread, I feel I should say the latest.
Had a phone call from Paul of Brodex asking if all was ok, if the tank and all is running ok did I need anything. So I took the opportunity to ask if all was ok with Brodex, and his reply was yes fine so I asked direct if they are in liquidation and he said not at all. They have new staff, bigger premises and things are going well. So don't want to reopen the Brodex debate again but as far as they concerned it is just bad rumours. He said Saun has other businesses but Brodex is ok.  I am very glad that the business is fine.
Cheers all !

I know I saw that, but they say that they are fine and they have others "arms" to the business which have been closed due to them not making any money so therefore they have decided to close one operation. So good luck to them! Wise business decision if you ask me!

If they are going into liquidation , you will have up to 6 years to claim your money back if you paid by credit card , and 90 days if you paid by debit card

They closed an aspect of their company which wasn't making any money, as anyone would do. I dont want this to turn into an opportunity to run them down again, cos like all of us if a business goes under, people still have to feed their families and pay mortgages etc. So i wish them well and personally I have have good service from them.

Chez - ancient proverb:-

"Anyone inexperienced puts faith in every word, but the shrewd one considers his steps."

Amended to spell "every" correctly - thanks for pointing it out chez.

It's a game of three halves!

The negativity on this forum is peaving. no I dont work for brodex. Have worked with Brodex for nearly 4 years and they have good things as a company but yes had a few things I was unhappy with but they put it right. All I am doing is what this forum I assume is all about - passing on knowledge about window cleaning etc. just letting all know what I have personally learned today. Hope it helps. Cheers all.

Actually it's  "every word" assuming your quoting from the bible. 4 years experience hardly makes me inexperienced. Cheers bro

Chez you may be passing on your option, but there is only so much people can take . As I said ,from my dealings about three weeks ago never never ever again. Would I use them. Hope. This makes sense to you.

Quite right! misspelling on my part!

However think about this.

If I buy something from the business that has been chosen by it's owners or forced by the bank or the creditors to liquidate then I lose much protection.

It all sounds fine and dandy to give someone a break or that we are glad they are on their feet again - however would it be wise to hand over money to someone who has either chosen to or been forced to close their business just because they have started up or transferred the goodwill to another similarly founded company with a similar name and/or set of Directors or what have you?

E.g.

I'm phoning up because my sealed units are misty and they're only five years old and they have a ten year guarantee.

I'm sorry but that guarantee was issued by Windowgleam  Ltd; we are Windowgleem Ltd (note spelling - I make the occasional mistake but not this time).

But you operate from the same address and you have the same main Director.

Sorry madam, legally we are a different entity.

But you put in a new window last year what happens when that fails?

I'm sorry madam Windowgleam Ltd went into liquidation. But We at Windowgleem Ltd can sell you another one. Funnily enough we have the same database which Lovely Laura is using right now to gain new custom using her winsome telesales ways!

Hey chez,
You may be happy with them, but most people on here have had poor experiences with them.
I have no doubts that unless they improve their products and customer service at some point in the future they will have to reinvent themselves again.
If your happy, thats good but to "sell" them to us, its far too early.

Nice illustration. But as far as I am aware they are still trading as Brodex not Bredex or something, so they did not cease trading or are not planning to, hopefully still honouring their guarantees. They moved to change where they trade from still as a wfp manufacturing company. They just told me that one aspect of the company has ceased trading but Brodex still continues to make the same machines etc. hopefully honesty as we all try to be, will be their motive in letting me know as a customer.  :)

Hey halfadaylee.
Sorry if you misunderstood me, and apologies for giving the impression that I am        " selling" them. Just have a good relationship with them over the years. Sometimes tho we tend to have a good old moan if things go bad ( as I have done) but rarely do people commend when things go well or praise where it is due. But anyone who has had a bad experience do well to consider if they would work with them again in the future, and I don't blame them! Not my experience tho. All the best.
