How long did it take you to do the job Barry, without the travelling?  The carpets were virtually the size of a through lounge and bench seating is pretty easy going depending on soil level. With travelling on top I would have been around the £350 to £400.00 mark. I would say they got a bargain.

BARRY, I SYMPATHISE ID BE WELL HACKED OFF. THE ONLY THING I WOULD SAY IS COULD YOU NOT HAVE AGREED A PRICE BEFOREHAND?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Robert Meldrun said,
Incidentally, If I was spending the full time involved in this job actually working then I'd be looking for around £450.

Well I wasn't far out ;D

And then in retrospect.......I once went to clean a slate floor many years ago which was a recommendation.
Big mistake, looked on the map and it was 1 hour travel and was about 3 hours job for £200. Oh dear, I remember being stuck in traffic for 3 hours on the way back ::)

21 METERS SQAURE SORRY

That equates to 441 square meters - then the bench seating on top  :o.   Reckon all the quotes you have been given above are from the cut price brigade :-\

You have to use a bit off common as well.

I have an expanding insurance company HQ near me and do all the charity shops that they take over.  ;D

Ocassionally they want me to do 1 or even 2 hours away. I groan a bit but do it for not much more than local price. The client as a whole is worth a lot to me so I don't mind.
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Why do you need "10 genuine quotes" ?

they are not genuine as this is a forum.

It's up to you what you charge.

Theres been some really bad communication between both parties here. I dont get it.

In 10 years Ive never found myself in such a situation.

You never disscused price at all?

Well I'd got the wrong end of the stick, I thought the job was 21 square metres!
