I wouldnt say its a new career... I think if you ask any SEO guy there's no money in pay per click. I just enjoy it a lot and help out a few people.

I've got campaigns running for a handmade soap business, a B&B, photographer, online learning website, garden services, Virtual office services.

I don't bother talking about it to carpet cleaners because frankly I don't want the extra competition.  ;D

But you know... unless you spend 3k a month there is plenty of room for every one.

The other thing is there are so many aspects that need to gel for you to convert browsers into buyers. If your website isn't great you may be wasting your money.

Hi Warren

Our Quality score has dropped on a few, only a few are 10/10 now, but most weren't 10/10 anyway, that's the holy grail.  The unique links for the Ad extensions made a difference to the CPC, it went down for some of the more common search terms.

I agree about the mobile listings, sorry I should have made it clear I just meant 'normal' listings.  Number one is best on mobile, because as you say they tend to call rather than browse and if you can convert that call then job done and nobody else gets a look in.  We're just putting in place mobile specific targeted campaigns, which will then feed through to mobile friendlier pages we've been working on.

Wynne, I've never heard of 'Peel and Stick'?  Am I missing a trick?

What site are you using Allan?

I'll take a look for the aspect that changed everything for me. I'm running at all 10's for 299 KW's

It's a few years since I personally was doing adwords so I don't know for sure but I presume the principle is still the same. You see how a group of keywords perform over a period then those that are not performig are removed and new keyword perms are added.

I would use shortcuts in excel to generate 1000's of perms easily which is essential when I was doing CPA arbitrage. Those were the days.  ;D

It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Funny isn't it?

A page that is highly optimised for Adwords will in theory, get pated in organic search for being over optimised. I wonder how they deal with that?

I would have thought it was still just as relavent now (unless you are using single keyword adgroups).

I've split out well performing keywords into their own but I never knew it was called peel and stick Wynne.  I need to broaden my learning away from 'traditional' sources by the looks of it :-)  and open up my blinkers.  There's some other great material following through from the link you posted, thanks.
