« on: October 15, 2012, 08:25:04 pm »

Aworka & George Systems has teamed up with a leading online supplier to create GeorgeOnline, a complete mobile scheduling and debt control system, with similar functionality to the classic George desktop application. Now you can access all your business information from any internet connected computer. You can also transfer your existing George customer data! Coming soon to iPhone, Android, BlackBerry and other clever phones. Soon you won't need to print job sheets anymore, you'll be able to do most things right on your phone! To be notified when it's ready for your phone.

It doesn't look like they have really teamed up as aworka is going solely too.

To clarify the difference between George Online and Aworka...

The two systems are similar, but the George Online branding is intended to highlight the partnership that I have with Paul at George Systems to provide an online alternative to George for those that want it. We feel the two systems are not in competition, but appeal to users with different needs. Although our products are different, our businesses share many of the same values, e.g. responding quickly to user requests and problems and providing robust, well-designed and reliable software.

One other key benefit of the the partnership, is that Paul has enabled me to extract data directly from the George database, which allows me to import more information than is available through the builtin George export facility.

At the moment, only your job and customer details are transferable, but next due date and current debt balances are included, so there is enough information to get up and running quickly.

I'm just about to include import of invoice addresses from George, so that information about customers with multiple jobs are preserved.

It would in theory be possible to import the full job and payment history, and this is something I have discussed with Paul before, but this isn't possible at the moment.

I have joined aworka for the trial period. Whilst I think it's great program which I intend to join after the free trial, two emails I have sent remain unanswered.

Not impressed with the sevice so far !

Tony Edwards : Sorry Tony, I don't think I have received any emails from you... what email address did you send to? What name have you used on your aworka account?

crf450nut: It is already possible to transfer your job and customer details and yes, aworka works well on the iPad.
