OACH  :o :o :o

What went wrong with the blower, theres not many parts  ???

Most people in the industry charge so much because they can, it specialised and because of this theres not a huge demand for a lot of the parts, but most parts can be found else where if you look hard

Gary will tell you the whole industry is over rated and over priced

its like the hoses £140,  the solution hose are used in lots of industries and if you bought a roll a 7.5m length would cost less than £15 the hoses the same all you got to do is zip tie them together, you could have custom length then.

how do they justifie the prices?

funny you say that, i did wonder how many had done it,  i was recently looking at upholstery tools on usa websites, so much cheaper! im going to look into what the carriage is, looks like you can still save money with the higher carriage.            anyone else ordered from states??

I donot know why you are supprised ;D ;D ;D

Alltec Select Team have done more than anyone in helping to raise the price Carpet Cleanersget for their work.

Why should they not get some back?

 ??? ??? ???

I was horrified when I used to use a rug Doctor and found i was charged £200 plus to replace pump.

Wanted £60 for the built in Circuit Breaker which i would fit myself..

This sent me on a quest for low cost parts.

All roads lead to Harlow

Could not help me with rug doctor but have ad some Good prices on replacement parts for larger
machines.

While I am on Subject does anyone know if their our repair Manuals on Line

As I am not technical as most of you know.

well here is an oppertunity for all on this posting why dont you form a co-operative get as many members as you can and import direct from america with discount.
i contacted a certain company in america who has a sole importer here i was offered a product at half the price including shipment, providing i did not tell anyone [ so i shall not be naming]. just a thought as there is nothing stopping you

hi   cbt,

www.flexiblehose.co.uk                  click on 'PVC super flex'  i think that is the grey and black crushproof hoses we are all familar with.  £1.29 per meter, if you make some up sell them on e bay £80 ish, be like hot cakes.

my solution hoses say arco on, i bought them second hand so that could have been a replacment sourced be preveous owner, so also try 'arco' under factory equiptment.

oh and some solution hoses are made by goodyear, all the same though.

certain firm charged me £21 plus vat for two wand jets !!grrrrrrrrrrrrrrr and then wanted another £7.50 for them tiny little jet filters !!!
rember lots of the parts we use are used in lots of other applications  one for instants is gate valves u can get these out garden centres, switches from auto places etc and pumps are used in loads diffrent things , pipes and hose the same , rember when these people make portys or truckmounts in most cases they dont make many of the parts they buy them in , thiers a shop in braintree were u can buy hoses loads diffrent ones by the meter and female /male connecters  gagues etc remember they are used on things like diggers, farm machines etc
and in most cases u know the part number name of maker etc just seach the internet  when i wanted a 12vlt pump i was getting silly prices upto £180 from carpet supply firms i found one in the end for £59 !!!     what we should do is start a list on here of parts what u find elsewere other than at  alltec, ashbys, soltuions etc

If its what I think it is you must have told someone because I heard about it

As for forming a Co Operative I thought that was the idea of the Federation

That lanico person on Ebay seems to be doing it as she is selling a Fogger for £145 and they seem to be over £200 plus VAT elswhere.

I think that idea of a common parts list is good.

hi ian sorry  but being a newbie i did not know that this forum was a federation. you  being a moderator and no offence why is it not organised so that members can club together for buying power and i dont know how long this forum has existed but if it is a federation  that exists for the benifit of the members why are peolple still held to ransom by the few suppliers in this country . surely it would be in the interest of all to form a real cooprerative and approach various companies home and abroad for the best deal cut out the middel man and save everyone their well earned pennies. perhaps you should ask the members if they are willing to be organised !!??
