Some questions for those who use pole hose on the outside.
« on: October 09, 2012, 11:47:24 am »
1) What is the best ,in your opinion, pole hose  to use for 'nipping' to stop flow? Too tough and stiff and I can't see it being that easy to do.

2) Also what method do you use for final connection at brush end? Do you tie a knot (without nipping flow) in the pole hose, around say the top clamp to take the strain or do you let the pole hose just hang from the 'y' brush barb?

Thanks

I always found it better to kink the hose, rather than nip. Tough hard hose was better for this.

I use this technique on one pole. The pole hose is Ionic's black 6mm, kink it and the flow stops completely. I try with other hoses and it just slows the flow down.
I tape the hose around the top of the pole. Couple of turns of electrical type stuff and the hose isn't going anywhere.

i nip the hose with pole hose inside the pole on my SLX these days.aqua-daptor orange or red hose is the best pole hose on the market IMO.very easy to stop flow completely and its very tough.

I use hose on outside of my pole and i kink it all the time, its just clear 5mm hose i think.

I had problem of the hose popping off the jets on my supalite sill brush as they take all the weight so i put some dubilee clips round the hose on the jets, works like a dream.

Aqua adapter hose is one of the best at kinking and stopping the water completely.

Change the hose, it costs pennies, and makes life so much easier.

Sigh.  ;D
