Winter Trousers
« on: October 02, 2012, 06:20:28 pm »
Hi All,

I need to get some decent trousers for the coming winter. Last year I wore jogging bottoms and they looked unprofessional + weren't waterproof. Can anyone recommend a decent waterproof/water resistant pair of trousers that also isnt too hot to wear? - as i find even in winter you warm up quick once you start work.

Cheers,

Caleb

I wear dickies exmoor trousers and jacket, they are waterproof and breathable. If its really cold I wear some thermal long johns underneath. You'll find them on ebay.
I wear the trousers all year round unless its really hot.

Try TKMax for ski salopettes or snowboarding trousers: they are water proof, insulated and wind proof. Best buy ever!!

Thanks for the replies.

M & M - Are those Oland trousers waterproof though. The website doesnt say they are. There is some kind of waterproof spray they sell, do you have to spray that on the trousers first?

cheers

I was going to write 'cos I'm hard I wear shorts.  >:(

I've found lined craghoppers are fine in all but the very worst of the rain.

ski salopettes...warm and waterproof

Salopettes sounds like something you eat after being out for a good session on the piste.

Oh.....

I shall have a look in Aldi's tomorrow. Are they something that Aldi's only sell going towards winter or are they an all year type of item?

Lined craghoppers are good but expensive at about £50 ~ £60.

Salopettes still sounds like it is a foreign food though.  :-*

Caleb , yes they are waterproof like most waterproof clothing when they have been in the washing machine a few times they need re-proofing ,

They are  cotton trousers so they dry out really quick if caught out in the rain mine dry out while sitting in truck . Defo get the spray and only wash them using a laundry liquid and not washing powder as it is far to harsh . Mike
