I too don't have any time for this type of thing as I've seen the results of drink driving in their most horrendous form, but the guy is asking for advice about window cleaning on a window cleaning forum.

He is very lucky that nobody was injured or killed and I'm sure he knows that.

The courts will decide his fate.

i realise i messed up really bad i have no reason to make exuses, but my head is up my ar*e at the moment definatly the lowest point of my life at the moment im just so glad that it wasnt someone else harmed in the process.

iv got some family members who maybe willing to help me out if i manage to avoid a prison sentence, then leaving ladders in custys gardens seems the best option thanks

right the guy messed up, and statements like who in their right mind would drive 4x over the limit I don't get, if you are over 4x you aren't in your right mind,

anyway live and learn jackal, you messed up. I am sure you know that, anyway it is walk the round, do what can be done from bus, bike, ladders Dropped of whatever it takes, good luck and if The Magistrate offers a d/d course take it, it knocks a bit of the ban, but it will be a long ban by the way sorry,

been there done that and it wasn't fun

Local window cleaner to us lost his licence after driving in to the back of someone whilst over the limit and uninsured, he now has his mother in law driving him around every day...........now that's what I call a punishment!  ;D

hi, lads

aint been  on forum for a while need some advice really, im trad and got caught satday nite blew 126 so im knackered hopefully it wont be a prison sentence buti really going struggle now to keep on top of my round got quite a bit of compact work but also a lot of bits on there own,its all pretty much within 5 miles tho,

how would u go about do the round?

mate some on here got no sympathy for you which Im sure you not looking for anyway ... you know youve been a t wat but at risk of getting flamed by some on the forum I think theres been a few harsh responses - weve all done stupid things at some point - he who throws first stone etc etc - sure you will get whats coming to you but at least things cant get any worse for you - hopefully.

I would look at employing someone who can drive but prob take 2 part timers who can drive and clean on then if 1 lets you down you can call the other 1 ... do it properley not a mate of a mate or cash in hand but proper interview etc etc ... job centre can help you with this.

Turn a neg into a positive by then being able to grow round ... then you will have more money to pay the massive fine thats gonna prob come your way.

Good luck with it.

i think your looking at a 3 year ban and you will have to take a medical before you can get your driving licence back.this is a tough wake up call for you mate.

i bet this wasnt the first time you ve drunk far too much and got behind the wheel.my advice would be to give up booze ALTOGETHER and stay away from it.

your insurance with be sky high as well when you get back driving again.

i think you need to consider paying someone to work with you who has a car and roof rack or consider getting a 3 wheel bike like the one in the photo above.although it will be tough in the winter months. :( :(

you could leave your ladders and bucket at a customers house on your compact work and get a bus/taxi to and from your work.

collecting will be a problem as well unless you use BACS/SAE.

the only other option would be to drive illegally and just use your car for work.dodgy but some window cleaners have done it and got away with it.

Bad!  You will go to jail for this.  But jail for some folk is a good thing.

My advice is to sort your drinking out first.  If you don't sort your drinking out, you'll just keep on having consequences.  I don't know if you're an alcoholic or not, that's for you to find out, but I can say that if you're an alcoholic, good things happen to alkies who don't drink and bad things happen to those who do.

Why not try AA?

http://www.alcoholics-anonymous.org.uk/

If you're at such a low point - as you've said you are - go to AA.  None of them will judge you for your drinking and driving 'cos most of 'em will have been at it at some stage, and it may change your life.  I've a mate who has passed his driving test 12 years ago, yet only actually held a driving licence for four years.  He has been to jail.

im not saying my advice is good advice about driving illegally by the way!!

i just know of 2 window cleaners who did and got away with it.

i also know of guys who have been jailed for driving while disqualified.an old mate of mine(should i say WAS as he s a very sick alcoholic now) got 4 months in strangeways.
