Calculating number of houses in area?

Anyone know if there is a website tool that allows you to select a set radius and tells you how many houses are in that area? Seems like something like that should exist but can't find anything.

Hi Another place to try is the Post Office.  My Post Code alone shows 15,000+ addresses!
The neighbouring codes show 11,000+ 10,000+ and 9,000+
How many windows is any bodys guess. But must be enough to keep a few windys happy.
