Spot on. At least you have given them the choice. You should not lose any to the boys that come knocking, but now they know you offer 4 weekly if they want they will ask.

I have a handful of 2 weekly cleans, which are what they asked for when they approached me.

I have built my run to suit the needs of my customers, therefore the frequencies vary from fortnightly to annually. If the customers are happy with this, then so am I.

i have some work not very well priced but bread and butter work every two weeks so good cash flow , well someone has come along and started do them monthly , could not beat me on price but every month saves custy one clean , where is the loylty only a coulple have gone for it but it puts you on a downer when you look after the work ,

I truly feel for you, because it has happened to me  and I am sure to so many others on here before, but you know what, these sort of customers are not worth having, in fact this is a message that you should start looking for a better customers, and those who took your jobs will come stuck in future.

Just have faith and every good comes to you, some times when disaster happen in our life, guarantee that there will be a positive after.

ide rather give up window cleaning than go back to them days doing every 2 weeks small terraced houses of a ladder chargeing 2 or 3 pound a house climbing over gates all day standing in dog crap in ally ways never getting paid asked to call back for money all the time i had hundreds of them they would go mad if you ever put your prices up 50p always moaning about something and never any loyalty there .i still do the odd terraced house but they are 4-6 weekly cleaned with the pole and charged 7-10pound .you would be better going every 4 weeks and chargeing more money and keep the loyal ones

2/3 of my customers are 12-weekly.  And very happy with it.  I simply cannot imagine turning up every two weeks.

i accidently got some customers off two weekly guys before when i was canvassing, i was noticing loads of people were asking how ofter do you come beforfe i clicked on.

i felt bang out of order but stopped as soon as i realised, ive yet to meet the window cleaners but i bet they wont be happy lol but you know it was an accident it happens to all of us

cheers for that but you are bang on i clean most of the estate only lost four but like you say  fly by nights , they will come with there tail between there legs after winter when the cleaners pack it in been cleaning the estate for years ,   but on the good side i picked up £100 pounds of work still needs knocking yet , and these are monthly as they are exspensive per clean i do understand the the money ratio ( if custy paying high amount as its a big property but not small propertys )

You could easily make £20 plus on those £3.50 hooses trad,not great but not bad ethier.WFP would fly through them,assuming there compact,we all got to start somewhere

Hi mikey, I'm doing them traditional, done 27 last week in 8 hours I was fecked but know it'll get easier the fitter & faster I get , will look at wpf in the future but for now it has to be traditional.

Hi 4s,you'll soon be quiker when your full time so can ease up a bit,it's hard work on the body though working like a madman to get a good rate up here(thats over the years).I would say get backpack, pole, and DI bottle in near future as you expand.I now don't work hard and earn more money,can't beat it,went straight for van mount.But thats a bit down the line,I'd stay as you are till you decide whats what.

Also to gain more work you need to canvass,it's the quickest way and it's free.You may get none one night,5 the next,get out there,it's a great buzz when you pick up work.

Don't know why anyone wouldn't want terraces. A mate of mine has loads all 2 weekly around £4 a go. He's got 1 employee does them trad, regularly clears £200 after employees wages. Never works after 3pm either. Wish I had some.

i get the feeling your way behind the times landy!ive never cleaned any houses fortnightly for over 10 years now and them prices are too cheap IMO!!

im in the north west as well and monthly is the norm these days for most window cleaners. with 6 weekly and 2 monthly becoming increasing popular esp the bigger domestic accounts.i charge a good price for these though plus i get the add on jobs once or twice a year(fascia/soffit/conservatory roof cleaning)and now solar panels if they ve got them!!

i found that it was easier to just put my estate work all on monthly or 2 monthly.i did it a long time ago and ive creeped the prices up a fair bit over the years.

most customers are happy with monthly esp now i mainly use WFP.ones that are tightening their belts money wise i offer 2 monthly at a slightly higher price and they usually go for it so i dont lose the customer.

Fortnightly?*!. Alien concept to me. I started off monthly but went to bi monthly as my round grew. True enough some houses that are straight onto the street want the bottom story doing everyday if it is wet weather. Also the shop window cleaners down the high street are out everyday. Basically I view a round as a peice of elastic. When you've finished it you start again and sometimes when it's raining all the while, I take a holiday (we are allowed) or the it gets dark at 4pm in the winter it slows down and other times it speeds up. I tell them 2 months is an approximate guide (I do have half a dozen I do on a seperate list every beginning of the month I confess). But the secret to never stopping cleaning is keep taking on more customers and do one after the other. If some drop off because they are fickle anyway or because you don't come often enough I can get six more to replace for everyone that goes (thats purely through referals because I am nice and chatty to the customers I have). I couldn't be doing with the stress of trying to stick to a timetable. My next door neighbor marks on the calender when her window cleaner comes and it wasn't good so asked me knowing I was a window cleaner. I told her to get with reality.

doesent he have to go collecting all these 4 pound jobs in the evening. then again if there not in that eveing thats what started to do my head in it wasent the fact they were cheap prices as i had pretty compact work with them all so i was making good money

Yes I suppose collecting is a pain on £4 jobs I know he does most of it Sunday teatime to catch them in.
