Have you submitted your site for indexing?
Have your webpages been indexed by Google?
Is your site optimised for google?
Does your site have a site map?

Just 4 of many questions I could ask...

What is your web address? I will take a look at it for you.

How much is mark at dp charging for websites now? Or Kev loomes, I bet you could buy a 5 page website for less that £300.

I meen no disrespect but you are not doing yourself any favours by designing your own website.... If monies a bit tight use your credit card.

Google probably does,nt know your webste exists, when did you finish it as you were asking questions about the design a few days ago

Google does know it exists (and it's indexed)...

Phil,

Gumtree is a huge authority site (in Google's eyes at least) whilst yours is a tiny newish site with no social activity or backlinks. As far as Google is concerned, under the current alghorithm, Gumtree is far more relevant to the search query than your site.

you normally have to wait at least two weeks before google does anything sensible with your rankings

Phil,

Like it or not you have a first page ranking (Gumtree).

Google has given your entry authority via Gumtree. You need to piggy back on this authority whilst it lasts, even if it means fresh ads on a regular basis.

Rule number one = get it into Google any way you can.   It does not have to be your actual site.

If this means using Gumtree's authority, so be it. You'll probably find you get pretty much instant rankings doing it this way.

You are welcome to use my Dry Fusion videos from the collection above this one... http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=0ZX-vhqFj2o  although most are watermarked some may not be of much use on your site.

ps Just changing the title of the home page to "Carpet Cleaning Fleetwood" or "Carpet Cleaning Fleetwood - Dry in 30 Minutes" should help a lot.

Trouble with hanging all your hats on google is that if it shakes a 7 then your new business is gone not all eggs should be put in the same basket.

all but 1 organic listing for fleetwood carpet cleaners is a directory of some sort.

google can't find any relevant results so sticks anything up, in my very limited knowledge I think it would be possible with a bit of basic SEO get on the first page

is fleetwood carpet cleaners a search term you would think customers would use to find you?
