I am seriously considering going into the carpet and fabric care business
and currently looking into three key aspects:

Comprehensive training – vital in my view !  Considering first of all NCCA training followed up by manufacturers courses such as the Ashbys training package.

Equipment – currently considering systems based around: Prochem ‘Steempro 2000’, Ashbys ‘Sensei’ and Alltec ‘Advantge’

Business Strategy and Marketing: again vital before I invest a single penny. The Ashbys marketing day looks interesting.  I have been reading the various discussions on this forum concerning the Alltec Fastrack programme. I will probably go along to one of their ‘Discovery days’  It’s not the price that puts me off this scheme, providing it does what it promises ! I must say the thing that puts me off Alltec, as a company is their website. In my opinion, it is technically a mess, on contains, perhaps, too much hard sell for my liking. (perhaps the the Fastrack programme is not for me then!)

I would be interested to hear the thoughts of this group on the above.

Equipment

Consider a supplier close to you.

Other Suppliers to consider Solutions and Extracta.

They have introduced some very powerful machines to the British Market.

On Marketing and  training in in my opinion Alltec is light years ahead of Ashbys. Although I do agree with you about Alltecs Web site.


Ashbys equipmemt is more inovitive if you think you need larger pumps etc

However you will finf excellent information  on here if you use serarch facilities

What is your back ground? Also a profile update would be very nice!

Training yes hands on (under supervision) is better than any class room this is not a pop, suggest you network (look at posters profiles are the near you and ask) after this you can and should take steps further.

Believe Prochem do a marketing course. But one has to remember all are after your money, look for the guarantee!

Sensei nice little machine I prefer spot pro.

Web sites yes some do need updating, example under one site (British) search I typed in wands and got back Für Ihre Suchanfrage wurde kein Ergebnis gefunden!

i would do your training courses the other way round supplier first and then ncca or iicrc the reason being the later ones are more in depth and more theroy based and if your a complete new starter even with the supplier course half of it is gona go over your head anyway, it did with me.

If you do the supplier first you will have a basic knowledge and understand some of the terms used in the industry and better understand and enjoy the more in depth one.
