I really enjoy the chance to see and touch new things first hand.

I feel their products are extreamly well engineered and made. new zero ppb machine looks like its come from the future. Yes it probably wont make much difference if any to regular cleans, but if you are a commercial company doing 6 monthly or once a year then it has its place. I particularly like the automated salt backwash and ro flush, along with the very impressive booster pump. I think this machine would make an excellent static system and I fully expect to one day upgrade our static to this system.

I think their pole range is very good, still behind gardiners but still very good indeed. The only thing I dont like about them is the lengths given in reach rather than actual length which makes comparing to others on the market in terms of price, length and weight harder

All in all I had a good time and feel they are a great company.

and no I wasnt paid to write this, I just think people slate them a bit for being expensive which they are but you can see the quality for your money.

nuclear grade resin is one of the extra filters along with ultra violet light

The ultra violet light is to kill bacteria not to remove dissolved solids.
I have a thermopure and a delivery system and both are excellent build quality .
Although initial cost is high longevity is the key.

Why don't they have a brush like the super lite extreme make an amazing difference to any pole.

unless your a big commercial window cleaning company i dont see the point in buying from ionics and even then you can get similar equipment a lot cheaper,less complicated and your overheads will be lower.

wfp window cleaning and purifying water is a fairly simple process but ionics try and make it sound like its nuclear science!!!

Daz mate Ihave used gardeners and ionics poles i will agree gardeners are better but not by much, It bugs me because you have never owned a ionics pole so how can you keep slagging them of if you have never used one. I think you need to remember you have not been using poles that long so in all your still a newbe.

By the way i know guys that have used ionics poles for 6 years and think they are great and they have used my poles and hated them

a 40ft carbon pole from ionics still costs a lot more than a SUPERMAX and its not actually 40 ft!!

they wont be getting any of my hard earned thats for sure!!gardiners customer service is excellent as well!!

Yes I went to their show and their  new system is very impressive.
On one of our vans we have the old Ionic  hot wash. We bought this system about 10 years ago, and still going strong and I must say I have got the money back 10 times over.

So as they say:

Making a noticeable difference to cleaning - NO! Seriously, do the math! To get my 300ppm water down to 1ppm is easy ( I get it to 000, but for the sake of math lets say 001) its cheap, its reliable, and it cleans perfectly. To get 1ppm water down to 1ppb requires the removal of an extra 0.3% of dissolved solids.

0.3% - thats all. Do you really thin 0.3% will make a noticeable difference? If you notice any difference in cleaning power, then its just the "power of suggestion" at work, nothing real.
Are the system cost & consumable costs only 0.3% more than a standard system?

I have to agree that Ionic's way of over sizing their poles is a mystery to me. I've been looking to buy a new day to day pole for a couple of months now and Ionic's pole sizes p me off.

Shame on you Nathan ,your maths are way out, you have made your self look a prat with your bitterness to ionics and not for the first time.
Its up to an individual who buys what, I have a pro 6 and i'm over the moon with it. Its still the only system that is crash tested and not sledge tested.......,And that is what dose it for me.

Ionic's systems are both sled tested and concrete block tested (the van crash). Most of their development testing was done on a sled test though. Sled testing actually puts the system and its restraints under more strain as it does not utilise the energy absorption of the van as in the concrete block test.

1000 litres of water at 300ppm is an easy calculation. 1000 litres is actually 1million millilitres/grams, so to reduce this to 1 ppm requires the removal of 299 grams of dissolved solids. Simples.

So - I now have 999.701 litres of water reading 001ppm (or 1000 parts per billion) so divide 999.701 by a billion parts & multiply the result by 1000 parts of impurities and you get a result of 0.000999701 litres or 0.999701 grams

So my ppm system removes 299 grams of dissolved solids - the Ionics ppb system removes just under an additional 1gram.

Anybody care to verify my math?

No Nat your method is still wrong, I will dig out the simple equation table from my collage days (we made ro water) Im 100% sure its not calculated like that. Did you know the new systems and the ppb systems are cheaper than the older ones? Regards
