Simon, Dave doesnt toss a bucket of water over the rug, he very carfully pours the bucket over 

Jim your right about lifes experience and the value of it, but as one of the guys stated above cleaning a wool rug aint hard when you know what your doing its the identification thats the hardest. I can identify any rug in about 60  seconds. I just phone up Dave Lehona up and say whats this then 

Dave was telling me once that he met a guy once in the States that could tell the country of origin and region of a rug by tasting it  ,  now that would be something to see

He must have been a rather cunning linguist.

Jim,rugs were my `achiles heel`,especially Indian and Chinese
Hearth rugs.I`ve always,even in my early years of the Seventies
Turned  silk rugs down.
My most enjoyable time regarding rug cleaning was my well,
Nowadays NCCA training course days spent at Cecil Aigins
And Franklins learning and watching how rugs should be cleaned.
With Sheepskin we used to strip the backings off,clean and then
Re sew new backings on in place.Those were the days.
That’s how I became a millionaire.

It is some time ago now this.There was someone in the Sheffield
Yellow Pages with a half a page spread I think it was.
In plant facilities,dry beating machines and in general their advert
Made Franklins advert look as if Franklins were just `on site cowboy`s`.
Part of their advert read. “ Former Employee Of WE Franklin”
In big bold black lettering.

I don't do the insurance side of things Lewis, leave that to those who like stress

I mucked in on a fire restoration job a few weeks ago, cleaned the lounge carpet and "disposed of" their fireside rug for them....



Bearing in mind it was completely black from soot and you couldn't even see the pattern, this is what it looked like after "throwing it away"
