Why don't we wash our cars in the rain?  ???

Ians right cleaning in the rain makes no difference ....... to us. If you offer a rain guarantee then you'll rarely get called back. However, filthy wet weather means their windows will get dirty again within a couple of days, no doubt about it. My office window is absolutely covered in dirt due to the recent poor weather.
Unfortunately Ians fabulous customer service speech is really geared for his business rather than his customers interests. He's looking after himself really, not the customer. Rain is a right pain to all of us and customers alike. Probably makes little difference if you cut the lawn in the rain but I bet a few gardeners get cancelled.
lol it is not a customer services speech, I do this with everyone if there is a problem I sort it, the customer services is geared towards the customer, which in turn happys me.

Our house's do not drive a long a wet and dirty road picking up muck, so a little bit of a stupid thing to make a point against.
although if vans sat over a weekend/night I would not have a problem washing my vans in the rain (it gets wet anyway doesnt it) sorry the the sarcasium, I must be learning from you  ;D

If you dont like getting wet thats cool admit it, I have my own windows cleaned in the rain.
cutting grass in the rain would make a mess of the grass and clog up the mower so thats a reason.
Cleaning windows in the rain however makes no difference if it did we would not be cleaning in them.

Do you Clean in the rain Mark etting ?

SPE i dont understand your logic?are you saying you dont bother doing half days because you ll spend MORE ON DIESEL THAN WHAT YOU EARN FROM THAT HALF DAYS WORK?? ??? ??? ??? ???

if i do a half day ill earn between £80-£150 and spend about £3 on diesel.(work 5 miles away mostly)
my towns very busy and traffic a nightmare,so travel time is also an issue and affects hourly rate. Sure a few hours may earn me £80 lets say and like you most work within 5 or so miles. No I would'nt spend more on diesel than what I earnt. What I failed to explain is that I cannot usually get parked back at home until after 5.30 also because of many commuting workers taking advantage of free parking in my street. To get across town and back and do a handful of jobs is going to cost me the same in fuel as going out and doing a planned round trip of a full 8 hours work. To me not cost effective, the jobs I miss out because of bad weather will still need to be driven to another day. Better use of my time would be to leave by 8 and not be back until gone 5, that keeps my fuel costs at a level I am happy with and minimises  less profitable journeys.

Yes and no. I worked yesterday but only on commercial work - two office blocks. The domestic work I left for another day. I will work in the rain at times on the residential stuff but normally only in light rain or showers. I've found it pointless phoning customers the night before with a forecast like that. I don't employ hence I don't have to work in the rain if I don't want to. I have so much work now that I'm often forced out in poor weather to keep up.
Where does the dirt come from do you think on my office windows? Only it wasn't there before the weekend do you think there is someone sticking dirt on my glass or something?

so what would you do if it was sunny then raining 20 mins after you cleaned would you go back and clean them again ? your arguement is flawed mate.
it is good that you choose when you work, I do the same I just choose to work in the rain (I like getting wet)

Didn't think I was arguing, just replying to your question  ???

The day we are talking about was yesterday I believe? In my area it rained heavily all day long. I chose to switch to commercial because of that and finished around mid day as I'd had enough too. When I got home the News was showing floods elsewhere in the country and appalling conditions.

Oh yes, and asking where or when the dirt gets deposited on the glass - do the windows get dirty in sunny weather or rainy weather?
