Battery problem 2
« on: May 21, 2012, 09:23:50 am »
Morning all
Our small lucas leisure battery we use for our gutter cam seems to have come to the end of its life.
I had it on trickle charge for over 24 hours and the meter didnt change its colour indicator a jot.
It is stored in a cold garage most of the time and I know that this is not good for battery life without continual charges(not been used for a couple of months)
Thought I might try and see if it needed a top up of distilled water and then put it back on charge
The battery is now having a more violent chemical reaction than I was expecting and is fizzing away nicely when charge going through it. :o
I obviously decided that this might not be the norm and detached from charger and thought I would see if any of you guys have had similar experience before either re-connecting(its fine, its only the house going to burn down in a Die Hard style fire ball) or am I going to have to get my short arms into my long pockets and buy another one :'(

Regards
Roy
