The 6mm fitting will fit on to most pole hose types. Dip the end of the pole hose in a cup of boiling water for about 10 seconds and then slide on.

Thanks i have a couple of your 8mm ez-snap fittings and they look so big i thought a couple of mm smaller  would still be to big i will place a order

Try putting the hose end into a mug of hot water to supple it up, that way the smaller hose should go on nicely.

If you dip the end of your pole hose in boiling water it will make it soft and it will go on the 6mm fitting easily.

Just for a recommendation..... i bought some EZ snaps from Gardiners in March 2011. I am still using the same set 14 months later. Twice I had to squirt it with wd40 but other than that it is a FANTASTIC product and great value for money. Much better than hoselock which I previously used.

there is no right or wrong way. im the same as you and prefer it that way

Just a note - if your in a fix and can't wait for delivery you can get these fittings from a local pneumatic suppliers.
They are a pretty standard item.

I had my male end in boiling water and ended up at A&E. What am I doing wrong.Its because I had my erectus 21 in the  hot water ,|I will have to change to easy scrap soon.

correct thats why I dont do it this way you also lose pressure at the brush and it sprays water whewre it should not be.

I did convert foolishly because I read to many things on here only to change back to the way that works best IMO, I only recommend the way I did it before now as still have not heard why this is better I think it is just what we are used to right or wrong.

I have to agree with Poole Bay, I have to say of late the ez snap fitting for my 6mm for my micro bore hose is just not lasting! im not sure if its a wrong patch or what but have been more than happy with everything gardens supplied BUT really not happy, i have used the ones from window cleaning warehouse and they seem to last BUT there almost twice the cost!

When replacing a female coupling it is always recommended (by manufacturers) that the male plugs are also replaced at the same time. An old and slightly damaged male plug can lead to premature coupling failure within just a few weeks or days. At best it will shorten the life of the female coupling. This may be what you are experiencing with your last purchase of female couplings. Sometime when a female coupling starts to wear all is needed is to replace the male as it may a damaged male that is actually causing the problems.
