Sussed it mate it is the extreme wide , i like the idea of the more robust edging which you dont get on the standard extreme which would mean the brush would last longer,

As once the edge of the brush becomes to damaged because of knocks against window reveals the bristles start falling out on the corner of the edge .

Had my extreme standard about year now and it is starting to bristles because of this problem .

It would be great if you could get the extreme  standard brush with this edging down each side of the brush , AS i really like the built in scraper of standard .

Love the standard except for this problem.  MIKE

The window cleaning brush is the item that receives the most wear during use and should be considered a consumable item. Just as in the old days you would look at changing your squeegee blade on a weekly basis to get best results (in the US they change them daily), so too you should look at changing the brush on a regular basis. If you have managed to get a year's use from an Xtreme brush then you have done well.

These are lightweight brushes and as such will need replacing more frequently than a heavyweight brush. Even on brushes where the bristles appear to be OK you will find after a year that the tips of each strand will have worn away and become slightly pointed (this happens on all makes of brushes even the heavy ones) - replacing the brushes regularly will improve the quality of the clean and also the speed of cleaning.

Thanks for the reply Alex i have also noticed that over time the bristles have become softer due to daily use and my brush is not shifting bird muck so easily at extreme angles and sometime straight on . but that is purely wear and tear great on leaded windows though.

I do like to get as much use out of my brushes and have a few gardiners brushes collecting dust but are still in good order . MIKE

Also what i charged her was for an hours work including the windows!! still had time to take photos have a cup of coffee and squeegee the water off the roof
