Lost my favourite custy
« on: May 13, 2012, 09:26:32 pm »
Sadly, he passed away last month. A lovely fella in his late 80's that always made me a cup of tea and stuck 2 fingers up to me through his kitchen window, because he could never remember how many sugars I took.

I always took the time to go in and have the tea and biscuits and listen to his many stories. He became more of a friend than a customer.

RIP Jim Weaver. :'(

You could at least call him a customer, i really hate the use of "custy" on this site.

Oh and yeah, R.I.P to a fellow brother.

Sorry to hear that sunshine .... had a few favorite customers pass away.
Only those who risk going too far will truly know how far they can actually go

sorry to hear that mate, yeah i meet some lovely old people on my rounds, somtimes im the only person whos spoke to them in days, thats why i dont mind a cuppa and a chin wag, always makes me feel good to give them back a little of my time, after all they do make up a big part of somes customer base, and without them there would be no wages  :)

Cheers fellas.

I was due to clean his windows on friday just gone, had a chat with his neighbour and she told me the news. I knew it was coming as he was deteriorating rapidly over the last few months.

He really was a true gentleman and one of my very first customers. I'm just gutted that i never knew about the funeral.

You cant beat the older customers for prompt payment , they were made of better stuff back then, sadly there morals have faded away , in more ways than just paying the WC on time.

I agree with  , but I quite like taking the time out to talk to the old `uns , OK it s time , and money , but they enjoy the company , and i enjoy their stories and wisdom ...

Always a shame when anyone passes , your right some customers do become more like freinds.

I do an OAP home , on the quarter , I always notice the absent faces , shame. Whilst i make my way around i often wonder what their eyes had seen.

Sadly not so often as I once did , old soldiers photos , often started the conversations, and sparked my imagination.

I have fond memories of old customers , no longer with us ,  I`m sure there are many on here who could say the same .

RIP Jim
