Not cheap that's for sure.
Mate of mine was paying 8 Euros for a pint of Guinness last year in Dublin.
I lived in Ireland from 1990 to 2001 - Boom time - now the country is really expensive.

I'm charging €20 for a 3 bed semi (with bay window) down in Cork & would expect prices to be higher up in Dublin.

Very few Irish ppl want a regular window cleaner, so every house is priced as a first clean!
About 50% - 60% of my work is regular & scheduled (much of that is commercial),.. the rest is all "one offs" or custies who just call me when they have a party etc coming up.

Don't sell yourself short just to build your round. Work smart, not hard! Find out what local shiners are charging and match it, don't undercut -- I'd be surprised if its less than €20 a house.

Remember that its rare to get loads of houses in a row,.. most of mine are single properties dotted all over the place, so setup/pack away time & the time travelling between each job needs to be factored into the price.

You might get less jobs if you charge higher, but you won't need as many. You'll also be able to spend an extra few minutes on each job making sure the result is flawless every time, which will win you customers through referrals.

Remember that the money you take home each day isn't all yours. The tax man will want his percentage, fuel & vehicle costs will remove another significant percentage -- equipment costs, insurance costs, accountants fees, days off due to illness or bad weather etc etc -- at the end of the week your business overheads can be surprisingly big even for a simple little business like cleaning windows!

Half the going rate in a lesser paying area? You sure are going to make some friends..
If you don't have the confidence to sell yourself to get the business at the going rate maybe this ain't the game for you.
That said maybe you should be out knocking doors to establish what's a fair rate instead of stateing your thinking about charging figure that could be a third of the going rate
It's a bit sharp I know but if your going to do this take the advice, not rewrite it.
Good luck to you.

I moved to Kerry from England in July 2011 and started knocking doors a week after arriving.

I went in with a guide price of 1.50 per window frame, equating to 12.00 to 18.00 euro for a 3 bed terraced or semi.

I have been told this is cheap, but even at these prices it is not easy to attract custom. Indeed, when canvassing I only quoted when asked. Many people simply don't want a window cleaner, and many accounts that I have gained don't want them cleaned regularly.

To the OP: I would suggest that you go for a price that you feel comfortable with, but without underselling yourself, and get knocking. I have found that people will be prepared to pay what you ask if they want your services in the first place. If they don't want you, you wouldn't get them at any price.

Best wishes,
John
