Yes John you are right... every scam imaginable is being tested on us Brits...!
If a carpet cleaner chooses to offer a cheap prices to keep the money rolling in then that's fair enough, its when the companies mentioned get rich acting as a middle man for doing very little which gets my back up!
Why not beat these crooks at their own game...?
Set up a website similar ro Ebay where us carpet cleaners bid for work... the public answer a detailed questionare about their cleaning requirements and then we, the skilled tradesmen (and women) bid for the work... puts us more in control and would offer the customer better value for money and a good honest service.
Could also work for commercial contracts too...

Russ, Simon.
HAd this idea over a year ago. Had the site designed, and put it up for a year but with no real interest it is difficult to keep paying for google etc. to keep it out there.

That would be a good idea for the well established cleaners out there, but for the likes of us who are still getting their arsenal together to make the grade to join TACCA, then i think we wouldn't get a look in
.....just sayin.

Wouldn't worry about TACCA Andrew.
The concept is a good idea but the fact is...
"Approved Carpet Cleaners" are only approved
by their equipment and insurance, not by their standards,
by one person who has never met most members.
Don't get me wrong I hope it does well, but approving
someone you don't even know is a bit, to me, deceptive.
