Days off work
« on: April 16, 2012, 05:43:57 am »
Hi,

This thought just come to my mind recently.
How do you happy people manage to take lets say 10 working days holiday if you work alone, and  have built your round to the size that you have work for every weekday in the month?

Do you allow your round to be delayed for 10 days or try to split and fit work into next days after holiday taken?

Thanks,

Bart

Same as Dazmond - just carry on where you left off.
Most of my customers are usually told if it's planned time off.

I work my round mainly on a 4 / 8 week rota - a couple of the weeks are quite light (Wks 3 & 7)  these are the weeks that I reserve for one off jobs, gutter cleans & clears, pressure washing - and time off!!

It's week 7 this week - taking it easy 8)

Thanks for all your posts,

Dazmond that sounds reasonable, I'll probably do the same.

Another thing I'm not sure how works is payment.  Do you text all of them the day before, so they can leave payment somewhere if they're not in, or just post a invoice with price and collecting time ?

Thanks !

Bart

bart i leave a ticket with the date i cleaned the windows if not in and collect on a friday or monday in the evening on compact estate work and leave SAE or bank details so they can send cheque/pay online on some  out in the sticks accounts.i text/ring the odd customer here and there for access but as a rule no i dont because it puts me under pressure to get round to them the next day and it could be peeing down and windy or i might want to finish early etc! ;) ;D ;D
