advertising in shop windows

im on wfp ,and i was thinking of puttin a few postcards in newsagents windows ,when i was a gardener i done this and got a good few calls ,and for 50 pence a week it makes sence ,however do you think it is taking the micky a bit in case there is already a windy in that area ,or should i say on card ,,,,dont bother calling if you already have a window cleaner, or am i being to nice ,any thoughts please
the more flyers i post , the luckier i seem to get ...

Just do it and stop worrying .... Also canvass the shops as well .... Golden rule no knowingly under cutting ... Good luck !

in my local village i put leaflets on the counter of the local petrol station for free. overall resulted in almost a days work

i put 10 cards in local shops last week in all 20 quid for a month advertising my gardening business and got 2 regular maintenance jobs worth just under a grand a year and 400 pounds worth of tidying and clearance
i would say well worth it defo give it a go stick them in churches library halls etc i always do well from them

Crackin.. did you back that up with a neighbour nudger letter when you went on those jobs?? a simple printed letter on letterheaded  a4.. "my name is ... i own and operate... i've been working on your street at number... doing (whatever youve been doing)... you may not need my services now blah blah .. but why not go take a look at our work and call me if i can be of help to you are keep my number safe when you need me... something along that patter....

you've generated a lead with the original advertising in the shops ... when doing the work on that lead use it to generate more with the above method or similar...

you do the letter?... try the letter .. a bit more direct and personal .. and you know how people like ti keep up with the jones  ;D.. if no 9 has a gardiner.. and no 11 , 13 , 15 haven't and are that way on... you'll bag the whole street!
