Anyone Use a VW Kombi
« on: April 10, 2012, 11:46:22 pm »
Hi we are switching from a Renault Trafic SWB  to a VW Kombi T 32 LWB but wondered if anyone is currently using a LWB Kombi ?

What sized tank can be fitted into a T32 kombi given that majority of weight will sit on back axel  ?

Can anyone recommend a particular set up that works well ?

Any comments on the above would be really helpful.

Thanks Mark

Hi Mark
Just had a look in my handbook and for the kombi t32 the max front axle load is around 1500kg depending on engine size and rear is 1700kg.
The kerb weight is 1980kg . You could easily go with a 650litre tank.
As an idea if you are going to get the tank bolted through the chassis then look at getting the plates/mounting points suitable for extra seats as well.
Good choice of van. i have had mine loaded right up and the t32 doesnt look overloaded.

Hi

Thanks for taking the time to check that out   A 650 tank sounds fine . I could always take a few extran water buts next to middle seats when needed.

Anyone else use a VW kombi ? Have you seperated middle seats with a bulkhead ?

Thanks
Mark

I cut a hole in the bulkhead for longer poles, but clx/ slx fit in the back.
The bulkhead is a motexion and was from Vw. I have a transit connect, berlingo and a combo at the mo.

Cheers jay
