Working on b/h?!
« on: April 08, 2012, 07:37:53 pm »
Curious to know how many will be working tomorrow on RESIDENTIAL work?

Debating going out for a few hours to catch up a bit more, and could do with the extra pound notes as have one VERY expensive few months coming up.

If I was the customer, I wouldnt be annoyed if my window cleaner turned up, providing it wasnt 8am.

Views please?

Normal day for us; if we don't work tomorrow we'll end up having to do it on Saturday so yes we'll be doing domestic work along with some commercial stuff.
Come and talk dirty to us!!!

no way for me.all bank holidays are spent with family and friends.plenty of other time to catch up and hammer my workload.

i simply cant sustain window cleaning 5-6 days a week every week.it would do my head in these days.ill be hammering it from tueday though as ive had 10 days off!!

no full weeks off until august now though!! ;)

self employed working for yourself
isnt like working for mitie ,ocs, etc
if you wanna sit at home n av your workload
piling up then its easy stay at home = no money
unless your paying yourselves which i dont get ,
every day is a working day as i look at it
lets just say i was going to take it off
then i get a call fr say dean taberner or dave morris
requesting that a retail premise needs cleaning on the bank holiday
then even if the job is say a fiver it will be done
the bigger picture needs looking at
all my retail work is cleaned monday mornings
answer is yes il be working fr 6.30am till 9.30am
that'll cover my drawings for the day
my business doesnt take time off  ;)

Hi,always used to treat b/h as a normal working day but as my business has grown and I now employ, its great to take 4 whole days with the family and do some of the small jobs at home that I normally am too busy to sort( this weekend, converted our conservatory to an office for mine and partners businesses)
However, means that on Tuesday we will all be out hammering the work for a couple of days Inc me , so there won't be much office time next week( which is another topic entirely)
Enjoy the rest of the weekend all  :D
Regards
Roy

we all have different attitudes and businesses if you want to work then go for it.

unlike gav cam lammy i would hate having to get up early and be dave morris/dean taberners "bitch" after a phone call out of the blue.as i might as well get a job working for someone else.i have noticed you work a lot lammy but your always looking to buy a second hand pole etc.

can you really not afford a brand new slx or are you just tight and a miser hoarding money? ;D ;D ;D

i was talking to a guy the other day who has a cleaning supplies business and he was moaning to me he s not had a holiday for 10YEARS!!! :o :o whats that all about?

dont get me wrong i work hard but i know when i need a break from the daily grind.it stops me from getting too bored of window cleaning and provides a better work life balance.

days, months, years of chasing the pound without a break is not really for me.i dont see the point of it.when your lying on your deathbed you wont be thinking "i wish id of worked more!!"thats for sure! ;D ;D ;D

best wishes to you all

Any day can be a bank holiday if you want to. I had two days off last week, so worked on Friday. Don't see the problem with it.
