Merlin problem; new membranes still SLOW
« on: March 27, 2012, 07:33:47 pm »
As the title says,Ijust fitted the merlin with 2 new membranes and it's only doing about 1000lt per 24hrs.

When I first started usin the secondhand merlin it was doing 2000lt per day no problem.

What could have gone wrong? maybee the membranes are not fitted properly?

The hose comes streight off the main supply and usually kicks ass, so don't think a booster is required...

Any advice will be greatfully recieved. :)

you could check that the membranes are fitted correctly

also double check the mains pressure - with the impending hose pipe bans the water co. may have reduced the pressure
this will effect the merlin output

failing that let Gav have it... ;D

Done the fills, before alterations it took 2.05 mins to fill a litre.

Changed the pre filter(maybee it was c aouple of months not 3 weeks since it was done :-\)

Time to fill 1 litre...gotit down to 1.05 min

I'm justy wondering the fast contamination of the pre-filter is anything to do with the water being turned off to repair a burst main(I remember the moment the water came back on and it was manky, all orangey brown).
And only a few weeks ago when they re-layed all the gas on the street the water again had to be turned of 3 times, same as before it was very muddy for the first few seconds...
