Idealrob, What hours do you work in a day? By your calculations it takes you 15 mins to do each house. 32 houses takes 8hrs let's say it takes 3 mins per house to collect, and move onto next house that's another 96 mins, taking you to 9 hrs 36 mins without a break or travelling time to work.

rich i could clean 3 an hour for up to 6 hours.so 18 in a day.working 9am-4pm(an hour for brews, chatting to customers, lunch and general faffing about).

i personally think ideal rob does NOT clean his customers windows to a good standard if he says he can clean lots more houses a day unless he s working 10 hour days.

ive been cleaning windows for many years and its not good to try and hammer your work every day as youll be knackered and burn yourself out.make mistakes, more chance of accidents and you will lose customers if your too quick.

a steady brisk pace with 5 min break here and there and half hour for lunch works best for me.

its a fine balance between cleaning briskly with a good standard of work achieved and taking the pee.IMO ideal rob IS taking the pee and being too greedy if he cleans many more of these types of houses a day.

hi dazmond,

nice for you to mention me in this topic when i've not commented????

of course the thing is, is you have never seen our work so you're just speculating.

all i can say is that we clean our clients homes to the standard that THEY are happy with.  our clients pay us every 4 weeks for our cleans and are so happy with the quality that they use standing orders to pay us.

the prices we charge are amongst the highest in our area, and there are plenty of WCs in our area.

also we have an office that is staffed 8-4 mon-fri so it is very easy for clients of ours to get in touch with us and complain if they wanted.

We clean to a good standard, and i still think 15 mins is steady pace, we have been cleaning some of the houses for 27 years, and get no complaints, maybe an odd window , eg bird hit it etc, yes we have a mid morning and afternoon cuppa, and 40 min lunch, yes ans start at 8 and finish at 5 pm, and most have money or cheque ready, so no time wasted or payonline, but even at a tenner and doing 20 a day , its a grand a week

It sounds so easy saying 20 a day @£10 , 15 min each 4 a hour only 5 hours a day a grand a week

Rarely the case though

A terrace house for the front would take 5 mins maximum with a good flow on wfp. Say 10 a hour with 10 minutes for a break or moving the house ect. 3 hours 150 houses would be easy in my eyes without flogging your guts out. I still think for an average size 3 bedrooms semi take 10-15 minutes there is 4 a hour and hour break is still 24 houses say travel time 20 for day is easy to do working 9-4

Not the case for those who make a living, but it is for those of  us who are VAT registered and can still earn a fortune

How is this strange didnt know you could have only one window cleaner in a area. Is it strange that that Liverpool and everton play in Liverpool no

Still think £1,000 a week is not hard to achieve after a year of two Mz

Why you on the tools with such a great vat registered round?

Ps.. i never said its impossible to do 20 a day etc , just stating it isnt the exerience of the average windy to knock out 20 a day every day taking 1k a week ... if your vat registered you need to be doing much much more than that
