Domestic Cleaning
« on: January 01, 2006, 10:24:22 pm »
Hello There

Happy new year,

I am new to this forum and i was wondering if someone could help me with some questions that i have.

My mum and i are looking to start our own business in domestic cleaning in the southwest. My mum has 10 years experience and a very solid client base.  She also does 'end of tennancy' cleans for members of the Royal Navy in their service accommodation. She doesn't at present do alot of these but it would be possible to gain more clients. I also feel that she undercharges! I will explain.............i myself am in the British Forces too and whenever i move out of service accommodation i have to pay a £180 flat fee to have it cleaned ( inc carpets and ovens) My mum charges her clients £10ph for her final cleans.

My questions are:
1) How and where do we start to build a sucsessful company?
2) How do we quote and still be competitive in the market?
3) How does everyone else do it? ha ha ha!

Thank you for taking the time to look at my questions

Regards

Natasha

If £10 ph is cash and there's no overheads like insurance etc. that's as good as you'll get for end of tenancy cleans.Well the kind you describe anyway ;D
