how do you use fan jets

Hi!
started using fan jets to try and speed up. But seem to be making poor job of windows i.e dirty water marks. I'm using gardiners sill brush. water seems to contaminate top of frames and run down. When using pencil jets didn't always touch top of frame as that slows me up. What do you do always do, clean top of frame every time. If i have to probably best to revert back to pencil jets. Advice appreciated.

Personally I much prefer pencil jets as they are more controllable in direction. So it is much easier to build up a 'curtain effect' with pencil jets which is the best way to rinse glass.
That is my opinion and finding however many will disagree with me!

Tried some brass fan jets for a couple of weeks - didn't get on with them, I wasn't happy with the rinsing speed and as a consequence, took longer and used more water.
I know that there are some better plastic fan jets on the market, but I'm happy with pencil jets at the moment.
I think the ones I use are around 2mm - does anyone make a pencil jet thats 1mm or 1.5mm? as surely it would use less water?

Dave - those brass fan jets are very poorly made - either get Lumark or Gardiners fan jets.
i doubt it's the fan jests causing your troubles but the fact you don't clean the frames - we have used fans for nearly 2 years now and get a much better rinse than with pencils.

I would say clean the top of the frame, and keep control of where your water is going to minimise overspray.

angle the brush differently so the spray hits the glass might be one solution

Thanks for replies gone back to pencil jets as couldn't control spray, fans seem too messy.
