 I use both of these products,are they the same.
The one step I get from Amtech,the Easi-step I get from Marshalls.

Obviously easi-step has not had such an impact on one step as Solution has

The european distributor is in Sheffield called W E Franklin group ( I used to work for them ).

They like Nick at Solutions used to be distributors for one step but have set up their own brand, not dissimular ( am I aloud to say that? )to one step but they do tend to focus on microsplitting wipes, like baby wipes but sold for hotels and supermarkets etc although they do sell to cc it is not their biggest market.

 Do fellow carpet cleaners get good results with One step on cotton upholstery. I find difficulty in removing head grease.

I find One Step to be the best product I've ever used on head grease. Spray it on and agitate really well. I find a terry cotton towel to be the best tool for this. If you dry the area out too much, mist some more on. Don't stop agitating until the soil has gone, then rinse.

 At what dilution rate do you use it,is this as a prespray or through your H.W.E. machine.

I use the One Step Fineline at 1:10 as an upholstery pre-spray, and a freshwater rinse with my extractor. I'll add an acidic rinse as required. Like most cleaning products, microsplitters usually perform better when hot. If you are using a small hand held sprayer, hang it in your solution tank to keep the temperature up.

Interested in your comment about microsplitters working best when hot. Would raising the temp change the Ph value or are we talking hot enough to melt grease and fat deposits. Presumably it would be a good idea do the colour test with a heated soloution just to be safe.

Heat shouldn't affect the pH of a chemical but will speed up the cleaning reaction

As long as its not too hot, you can effect the efficiency of micro splitters with high temperature.

I only use an acidic rinse as belt and braces insurance, after suitable testing naturally. Sometimes you can look at a fabric, test, test and test it again, but something inside you says Insurance, insurance insurance.That's when I put on my braces and tighten my belt

  Cleaned a cotton/synthetic flatweave light green suite  today-  used one step on it.

Mixed at 1-1 ratio on ink and coffee stains,then 1-12 ratio on the rest.

Had difficulty removing stains. Is one step spot and stain remover any good, or can anyone recommend a compatible product with one step.

Yes Rob, the One Step Zap-It(?) is more efficient on solvent soluble stains. However, I tend to use the more specialist solvent spotters such as POG, Solvex etc. etc. On ink I usually use Isopropyl Alcohol. Highly volatile though.
