Prices on flyers
« on: January 31, 2012, 05:55:36 pm »
I have a question for the people who put prices on their flyers. How do you account for conservatories and extensions round the back of houses if you cant see them? Do you just put an estimate on you flyer or do you ask the customer when they phone?

ive started putting price on when posting them i just put

'' Quote £12 per month''  or what ever it is on the back

an when they ring i just ask if they have a doruma or conny and say that will be xtra.

you cant price for what you cant see

i find it works well
keep it simple

I prefer people to call because they want a good service done and dont go on price alone, each to their own though

If you are doing a neighbours and can see - then price accordingly
If you can see round the back and are sure youve seen everything - price accordingly
if you cant see round the back then put 'prices from'
Its also a good idea to put 'price quoted based on 4 or 8 wkly clean' or 'subject to conditions' - Try to eliminate the one off brigade :)

I've thought about putting a price guide on l/let's.

Don't think individually writing price on flyer for that house on putting in letter box
Wouldn't work for me As would have to remember each individual house which would be painful because most wouldn't want me due to having a windy already etc.

I've not seen round the back of the houses as i just looked on google maps. A few of my customers have asked if i could do their family's houses but its about a 30 minute drive and i dont want to keep driving back for a quote here and there but i do the same houses else where so i feel it would save alot of petrol if i just put it on the flyer.

this guy knows what he is talking about  ;) i never put prices on. i knock after leafleting a few days later. if they are interested then i quote them. too many variables to quote without seeing any job.

only my opinion but it stops me underpricing.

Just put How on earth is it over complicating things? The bloke asked a simple question - if that's what he wants to do then why not? It can't hurt can it? If no ones home at least they will have a better idea as to how much it costs
Some folk don't like phoning up and asking!!
do you need a window cleaner ?

please read your post
I never said it would hurt, I said why over complicate things, I know a little bit about marketing so that is why I put it.
if know one is at home and you put some of your replies they would be none the wiser to the price as it is confusing.

there is a term called K.I.S.S  look it up on goolge, in no way am I calling you stupid by the way  ;)

Agree with that window washers "play on words"

But i think people don't like phoning shy lazy ::)

So if you can answer the obvious question how much/ how often, i think this will help that is my plan for my spring l/lets.

i.e 3-4 bed houses £10 front "we clean all your window, frame pane and sill"

Most guys my way would charge £8 front for glass.

Gonna aim higher this year.
When custy phones they know how much/ how often and if they want back done will give em price for that too.

Not much bothered now would rather do £10 fronts and do backs as and when their in to unlock, fed up texting night before, coming round to locked gates or people seeing text as asking permission to clean their windows or leave em we'r e on holiday.

What's a holiday? ;D
Not had a real holiday for 3 years; getting on a plane holiday ::)

Ref comment about the danger of ending up with underpriced work: if you think it through, it's not really so much of a problem, as you'll have some overpriced work to balance it out.
