  Got a call to go to a job today, guy said it was an emergency but was a bit cagey about the details. Anyway said i'd call in between jobs to have a look. OMG him and his mate had been out on the p the night before and his mate stayed in the spare room, he woke this morning to find his mate had disappeared and his bed covered in puke and the carpet covered in poop. The guy had rented a puzzi and was trying to clean it up as his girlfriend was coming back that day and only knew that something "had happened".  "Can i do anything about it"? err sorry no and quickly legged it. No way was i going to attempt to clean that up.

tell them the price you would be willing to do it for , " every body has a price "  dont they ? 

Then its simple case of yes or no ,   I had a very simillar situatation a cple years ago, diahorrea went from bedroom along landing to bathroom, my price was £300  take it or leave it  and i even said would prob be cheaper to get a new carpet,  No   dont want the hassle  jobs yours . 
 an hrs work half hr flushing  machine  and tools,   £300  in my pocket,  ets be straight here your a c/c  you will come across situations like this, all part of the service in my opinion.

£300? yes would be easier to get a new carpet. My problem with it that he had already soaked the main bulk of it with water from the puzzi so would have caused more problems. There was also still areas that hadn't been touched. Don't know about you but would like to think i'm in a position now not to take on a job like this and 100% success i would have thought it highly unlikely.

Got to agree i have come across this type of situation a lot over the years we are carpet cleaners after all and although its not a nice job would give a price and if accepted just get on with it.

This type of situation arises in nursing homes and the likes so its part and parcel of our job.
Am sure the bedding was his problem to sort out and as long as he got the loose crap off the carpet it shouldnt take long.

 Just my opinion but we all look at jobs differently : excuse the pun

I learnt carpet cleaning in a residential home in the 80s.
The products we had then were primitive to say the least and downright dangerous most of the time. (some were pH 14.5)
The above picture was commonplace and took a bit of getting out.
Nowadays I clean for a local wedding venue/hotel and this is again a regular occurrence.
M-Power 80-1 fairly hot, sprayed very liberally and 20 min dwell with light agitation, then a thorough rise and plenty of drying strokes.
One hour £120 and back home for coffee.
Job done on Monday, room back in service by the next day.

Isnt the problem with these stains and diahorreah etc, that whatever we do to clean the carpet, there is the same in the underlay, and will cause a problem in the coming few days?
