Pump problem ???
« on: January 24, 2012, 12:06:44 pm »
Hi people,

I always have mr flow controller set at the same number
Theese are digital, but the last week or so I've noticed
That the flow keeps changing, sometimes the flow drops
A bit low and dome times the flow is so high
The water is bouncing of the windows and making a noise
On the glass!

Any ideas?? Would it need to be re calibrated or would it be
Some thing else ? The system is only about 8 months
Old and from the cleaning ware house

Many thanks

Colin.

is the controller number changing or just the dropping off then coming back up ?

i'd check the batt first - make sure you have plenty of charge in it

If the flow rate on the controller is staying the same it may be a battery voltage issue, Does the controller show BATT?

Also check you connections between the controller and pump try to keep cables as short as possible as the longer the cable the greater volt drop.
It may also be ensuring there are no restrictions or blockages in the hose or jets.

Failing all the above if you have altered or changed any of your fittings it may just be you need to re calibrate the controller.

Do you have anything "after" the pump, like a DI vessel?

Also check your strainer, it could well need cleaning! I've just had to sterilise my tank after it was full of microscopic algae & was blocking the strainer within an hour!!
