Ok ok im sure theres an obvious and easy answer to this but i struggling to find it
I am putting my 1000ltr ibc into the van,however its only outlet is a 4 inch tap which is no good for my use.The question is how do I make an outlet in the tank to take a hoselock connection when I cant reach inside the tank to hold anything to screw up to?
Also if anyone knows the answer where can i buy said coupling?

i take it the tank is not in the van,when you say" i am putting a tank in my van"
cant you remove the tap first and install new connection like a gate valve,isolation valve,etc

Thanks for the help guys but iv sussed it :
I knew it would be simple :
I will simply unscrew the 4 inch cap and insert my fitting into this then screw it back on..simples..

Are you going to baffle the ibc,
Didnt think 1000 ltrs of water sloshing about in the back would be a good idea.

Yes I am planning on baffling it,iv been told bubble wrap acts as baffles.

Piping deffo works but can work out expensive, dont know about bubble wrap never heard that one before.

When I bought a van with system in it had an IBC filled will cut up drain pipes and drinks contaniners with the top and bottom removed, seemes to work although I only ever filled it by 2/3 as I didn't know if the van would take 1000kg of water

thats what ive seen cut loads of drainage pipe to height then stuff them all in standing up top to bottom brodex use this system if im correct.

I have seen pipes used but not bubble wrap, thats an interesting one and would like to know if it works....

I will keep you informed.Id never heard of the bubble wrap technique but read it yesterday on another forum.
I used the pipe technique before but unfortunately the pipes went with the old tank.

Brodex use vacuum formed tanks that are self baffled, then a load of over complicated gizmo's that pack in all the time and cost a fortune to replace, oh and then seem to blow a few bobs worth of fuses in the process?

i got a baffled 500l tank but the water still manages to find its way out the top even with a lid on,i have to put a cloth over it now and then ring the cloth out between jobs.why does mine leak from lid i do fill it to top but they are designed to do that right ?

i was told to just fill the tank with loads of empty 2 ltr water bottles, 19p asda
