Hi,
     Im new to window Cleaning and i just got my 1st customer and was wondering if the price i charged was fair or not,
   it was a bungalow with 3 bigish windows standard kitchen size and 2medium size 2 doors with top half glass in it, and patio doors.

   i charged them £9 for 1st clean and £7 every 4 weeks
       is this about right???
         When she paid she gave me £11 and was happy with the service

I have a very simple pricing policy, a customer will phone and say what type of property they have, I price it and if out of every 10 calls I get, more than 5 say no, then I am too expensive, if more than 5 say yes then the price is ok.

I have been using this method for the last 10 years and it works for me.

I now get new customers who are willing to pay £12, upto 6 months ago it was £10 and they stay with me, even when other cleaners come into the area.

A trad cleaner who works in one of the areas I do, also has a minimum charge of £12, its from him I increased my prices, but I also know another trad cleaner who charges £8 and he is happy with that, he even knows what I get as I clean next door to some of his customers.

With pricing, its simple, ask and if they say yes and you are happy with the price, then you have the correct price, if you are unhappy then you have the wrong price.

Totally agree with above statement ^
Biggest mistake newbies make is underpricing because they think that's the only way they'll get the work...then deeply regret it - I know ive done it!
There's nothing worse than cleaning a cheap house a few months down the line, when youve got yourself some much better priced work, after you wise up and realise you're running a business not a charity

Depends on what part of the country you live mate, In Hampshire around £15.00.

^ as above, depends where you live. I would be laughed down the garden path if quoted 10. 5 BUNGALOW windows and 2 doors.  I'd be looking at about 7 or 8 quid.

And if they then tell their neighbour what a good job you did for 8 quid, you end up getting that too. So you'll be cleaning 16 quids work, whilst someone else has quoted 12, may have got it, but loses out whilst driving to next job.

IMO, little and often is best! The main thing, as posted already, is that you're happy with prices of your work.

The trick is, quote, 9s and 14s and 19s etc. 9/10 customers will always say, keep the change! When this happens 4 or 5 times a day, it'll soon add up through week!
