hi i had a call from a man calling himself paul jones claiming to be part of west sussex community police yestreday asking me if i wanted to join the street scene mag. he then got somebody to call from mode pr (www.mode.com). his name was alex. he gave me all the talk about prices and things, anyway made a call to a fellow wc and he gave me the heads up about it being a scam, just 5mins ago he called back and i told him that he is all over the wc forums and he put the phone down. the number he rang from was withheld but the number from the so called alex from mode pr is (01512360741).

I've had several of these calls, always reporting to be representing local Police and health Authority ect....
Always Scouser's on the other end always called JOHN.

last two calls I confirmed with them their contact details, once I'd done that I tell them that I have been recording this call and will be passing on to local Police, then the phone goes dead............. god they are so rude.......


Anyway haven't heard from them for two months now............

I had it yesterday,  it was a bloke with southern accent. He was triying to offer all these packages and deals and wanted credit card details over the phone.

The phone number came up as blocked, I personally would not give any one any of my details if their number was withheld, blocked, looks funny or not showing for some reason.

In the end I just put the phone down on him, usually I do this straight away on these sort of numbers, but because he said he was from the police you listen for a little bit, he even said he will have a quick word with  his sargent to get a better deal, you just heard him talking to hisself, sounded really silly doing this.

Paul Jones is still going! Got a call at about 12 today. With held number! Thanks to this post I didn't let him waste much of my time. As you say, when I told him I wasn't interested in advertising, the phone just went dead!
