Be careful with pay per click you have no way of controlling who clicks the link, I believe the cost is approx 30 pence per click so you only need some numpty to click on your link for the hell of it to cost you a packet.

ppc will not cost you 30pence per click if done correctly, and you can control it to a degree by using ppm you can also tailor every part of the ad, there system is far better IMO that google ppc purely because you can target select demographics and thats awesome.

 it is a massive market if done correctly

RS I am not being funny but I dont think all the major companies would use facebook if it didnt work. It may not have worked for you but I can assure you done correctly and targetted in the right way it wouldnt cost 30p a click and it would bring great results....
