I have a fogwash - so minimal investment. Basically I've found hot to be a total waste of money. It cleans no better than cold with tfr. Shows up any weaknesses in your plumbing and isn't needed.
However, ask me again when the temperature drops below freezing and I may change my mind.

Would cost a small fortune I'd imagine.
I find it's just so much quicker in virtually any aspect of cleaning. I did a glass roof yesterday that I normally would have taken about 25min, I did it in 15 with the hot system, all the muck, algae etc just flew off. Ridiculously quick.

I use the l5 in two vans, so cost was low.
Outcome helps softening hose, First cleans on upvc.

Never had many complaints we regular customers, but when use the hot, i ask them to let me know the outcome.
Results customers who did look out for any difference, said cold was better as hot on glass left more spots .

So i use my hot just as a back up example new cleans with year old bird muck.But only on that area, rest of windows straight to cold.

Unless there is a difference to cheap units that make hot water compared to say £3000 hot water tank from big boys.

I will always stay with cold and my family who have there on window round says the same.

Commercial may be different i don't know

I spent 2k on my system and I have no regrets  whatsoever eially in winter with my frost stat circulates hot water round my whole system when it drops below 2degrees over night,lovley warm hoses inmorning ,i like it that much I bought one for my other van aswell ,money well spent

i imagine the advantage would be on first cleans and
glass con roof and fascia when custie tap not available.

for me it would make no difference when cold,i use backpacks
and it is easy to keep hose off ground or even insulate hose
and hot water still freezes when it hits ground.

i worked alongside a chap with hot water system and he
wasnt any quicker than me.

cold to hot is only a incremental improvement for wfp
it will not make the difference that changing from trad to
wfp does.

if i was targeting more con gutter and fascia work i
would def be tempted by a fogwash,but for my
day to day work it wouldnt justify the cost.

hot water systems wont help you in winter.  hot water freezes quicker than cold, leaving a skating rink around customers houses.  the only thing it would help you with would be first cleans, but if you make sure you charge more for a first clean, then theres no need for a hot water system.  i dont think you could say to a new customer 'ive just got a new hot water system, so even though itll be just as quick as a regular clean, i will be charging you more'.  i think they would be feeling ripped off

Why would you charge more? Hot will make you faster, and even if its only a tiny bit faster it'd cover the fuel costs for a hot system easily.

its just much smoother on the glass when cleaning 

bad windows near trees and main roads are a breeze with hot...like a hot knife through butter as apossed to a cold knife  best 3k spent!!

Down side you have to have good hose connections as they will blow when hose gets hot. I did get this the first day or so, but not had any problems now for months.

Upside will do every thing cold will and quicker. Also removing cobwebs snail trails and those stubborn file black spots, also the frames clean really white, unless of course they are brown

We do a lot of 8 & 12wkly houses and it really does come into its own saving loads of time.

A difference I have also found is that if you are doing a conservatory and it has ice on the glass, if you were to clean with cold you would just make more ice. but with hot you gently warm the glass and ice and clean the glass. And because you have raised the temperature of the glass the window dry's before freezing again. And if it does freeze when the air temp rises it will run off as normal.

So would I get another? without a doubt.

i`ve had a fogwash for about 3 months now and have used it all the time basically i find its a luxuary to have warm hose and pole. i find it cleans quicker and is wonderfull on first cleans. im using bottled gas tho so im guessing more expensive than fitting an lpg tank and filling at petrol station so that will be my next modification.
