Long term average over a year would be 5 a day.

Have been known to put in 15 hour days and had considerably more jobs than 5. Obviously the size of the job has a bearing. As has the distance you may need to travel between jobs.

I know there are some on the forum who have a helper which if you think about it means you should be able to comfortably get through (getting on for) twice as many jobs as one person.

As I don't do any leafleting and rarely do on-site quotes there are more hours in a day for doing jobs.

It's amazing how much faaster you can go if necessary :o

Do you have a helper Roger?
It's not expensive, you just can't afford it.

Hi Wynne

Have had. Thought I might get home sooner by having the extra pair of hands. Only trouble was work generated expanded to make full use of 2 sets of hands so ended up working just as hard and for as long as before. The benefit was turnover, and more particularly, profit rose considerably. The downside was I was knackered and ended up with vat and larger income tax bills. However it has created a large database of repeat clients, paying large ticket prices. And of course once you've worked for somebody you will always do the repeat job more quickly in the future because you know where everything is, the layout of the house and how you will tackle the job.

As has been said many times before-the cleaning is, relatively speaking, the easy part...the trick is getting the phone to ring and more particularly converting that to a booking.

On big jobs I have brought other cc's in to help.

Interesting, I was considering it lately but like you say it means you have to work harder yourself ironically.  ;D

Sounds like you are sitting pretty with all those clients now though.

Del,

The answer lies in customer retention. If most client stays with you then you won't need to generate so many new callers per day. I am going to guess that many of Rogers calls are either from repeat clients or regular third party recommendations.

You could consider sending out less leaflets and start writing to/calling  your historical client database. That should be your little treasure chest if you are making an impression upon them.
