prices for solar panels

been asked by a client to clean their solar panels.  does anyone do this, and if so how much do you charge?  also do you have a minimum fee for it as they are one off jobs (or at best 6 monthly)?

Been thinking the same myself and would probably be £6 per pannel with a min of 4 pannels.

From what i have read is that solar pannels should be cleaned in March / April then again in July / August to get the best out of them.

i was thinking more along the lines of £10 per panel, minimum £79.95!  unless its a client and you're on the property already i don't figure its worth doing anything for less than £60.  also if these things are damaged when you're cleaning they're thousands of pounds to replace.

It's gonna be a big market this lads in a few years.

Got a mate who is a manager at a warehouse and they're having them fitted, 400k worth. All aligned so cleaning can be done. Will have to keep in his good books in a couple of years.  :D

Thought so... Already told customer I won't touch them yet as not sure.
Suppose I need to decide wether to push this service to justify increase in premium?

hey bob,

yes there is a risk of damaging the panels if the wrong brush head is used, also a risk if water temp too hi, or too low in hot weather!  apparently they're very delicate.  that's whny you need to charge properly for this if you do it.

Are there any solar panel 'experts' on here then? I'm looking to add this service and would like to know exactly how to go about it, without learning from a costly mistake! What size poles and adapters are used as some look very tricky to get to

Probably the best thing to do is to contact a solar panel maker/supplier and get the info from them
