Why does everyone pay £15 + for 1 litre of Protectakote when you can buy 5 litres of the product below for £20

Because that's Bitumen, it's single pack and about as damage resistant as custard.

I think you could do better with floor paint and sprinkle some dry di resin on for grip.

Floor paint really needs an absorbent surface to properly key to, concrete or chipboard works just fine. Doubt it would work very well on a steel floor.
