fogwash blowing out
« on: October 25, 2011, 12:49:25 pm »
as the title says,
has anyone else had this, was very windy yesterday and the wind was blowing down the roof vent and blowing out the flame, very annoying having to keep going back and hitting the reset button.
in the end, i pulled the flue pipe out of the roof vent, and just let it exhaust towards the back doors.

Got a feeling the flue should have a bend in it. Have a look in the handbook, I can't remember for sure.

just had a look at the handbook, and the picture shown in it has a bend in the pipe, because the heater is shown indoors with the flue pipe going outside.
it doesnt actually say a bend is required.
will have to have a look about for an elbow fitting for it, to see if that helps.

The reason it keeps doing this is the exhaust gases are not getting away quick enough. There is a work around that I have done. But I will not post on a public forum. But here is a hint " Look at the reset button, each side of the button there is a wire"

Mine also goes out if the water flow is set a tad too high.
I would be very wary of the other cure - it's there for a good reason I believe.
