It looks to me as if there are some who are burying their heads in the sand, especially those who are saying that they are unaffected by the current economic climate. Before my relocation to Ireland in July I was one of those who was doing well enough to have work coming at me from all angles, so I also felt that this would last forever.
Since my move, I have started up my new round from scratch. I am telling you that it is very tough here. I am finding work, but it is much harder to get established here than in Blighty. No-one has the confidence to spend any money, and window cleaning is way down the list of priorities here.
Don't get me wrong, I am not a doom and gloom merchant, but I am seeing a lot of people struggling to survive here. That is reality. So let's not take anything for granted just because we may be doing well now. It could all go belly up tomorrow, and there would be little if anything we can do about it when things really do start to fall apart..
