We knew we had a builders clean on a project in Preston. The 80000sq feet store went into shutdown (stopped trading to the public,) so that the rip out of the interior could begin. It would reopen one week later.
We have always been able to get in and do peripheral works before the stores go into shutdown but on this one we couldn't.
I had 6 days, with a team of three to turn it around, all walls, cladding, all glass, kerb edges, fuel station (not in sq footage) canopy, floor and islands, car wash, service yard, all perimeter paths, all Tarmac around the store and the service yard.
These are monstrous jobs and you do an area and it is dirty again the next day.
We absolutely nailed it and could have easily done it in five days. Stop moaning and get on with it, I am on my 30th store this year
