« on: September 21, 2011, 06:43:28 pm »
did a commercial job today and cracked a pane with my fogwash, had it on the highest setting. it was scalding to the touch, but ive sorted it now for future.

Roughly, what was the temperature where you were working today?

To climb mount fuji you must first find a path

the other way this can happen is in wooden frames windows, where the nail under the beeding heats up and expands too quickly..cracking the glass where the nail is

well i would say it was 100 degrees coming out of the boiler, then about 90 out of the brush. as hot as a hot water tap in a house?

Why the did you have it turned up so high? I've never had mine past half way and there is no way I would even have it that high when on glass! Mine was doing a conny roof

I read somewhere, that the water temperature should not be more than 20 degrees of the ambient temp..

The temperature wouldn't be 100 C out of the boiler as that is when water turns to steam, probably more like 70 C at the brush head at the very most. I can understand having the water as hot as you can get it though as it makes cleaning so much easier, I find about 50ish good in this weather.

It also depends how long you are going to be on a window for as well. If spending minutes on a pane then the 20C above ambient temperature is a good rule, if only seconds the keep it hot.

Simon.
